This was announced by the head of Sochi, Alexei Kopaigorodsky. Ferry services to Turkey were suspended in 2013 due to safety requirements in preparation for the 2014 Olympics.

«The project for the resumption of the ferry service is undoubtedly important for the development of the resort. Its implementation is profitable for Sochi, it will reduce the price in the city for fruit and vegetable products, which are today brought to the resort by heavy trucks from Novorossiysk and Tuapse - from 200 to 400 tons of fruits and vegetables arrive per week, - said Mayor of Sochi Alexey Kopaigorodsky in his official telegram account on Wednesday.

The resumption of ferry services will also relieve the burden on federal highways.

In addition to cargo ferries, it is planned to revive cruise routes to Turkey. According to the head of Sochi, Aleksey Kopaigorodsky, this will not only diversify the leisure of residents and guests of the resort, but will also create new jobs.
