A decision has been made to establish new Moscow government awards in the field of ecology and environmental protection. The corresponding decree was signed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Applicants can be environmental specialists and volunteers who implement environmental projects in the capital. This was reported on the website of the Mayor of Moscow.

“The prize for the first place will be one million rubles, for the second - 500 thousand rubles, for the third - 300 thousand rubles. In the case of awarding a prize to a team, the monetary reward is divided equally among its members,” the message says.

Starting this year, awards will be given in nominations such as "Environmental Literacy," "Environmental Education," "Environmental Volunteering," "Digitalization of Environmental Solutions," "Green and Nature-like Solutions," and others.

The Moscow Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection will organize the competition for the awards.

According to the Moscow government, the establishment of new awards will give an additional impetus to the development of public initiatives in the field of ecology and will contribute to the preservation of the capital's natural potential.
