You can admire large snow-white, milky and pale pink flowers directly from the cable cars in the zones of the subalpine and Alpine zones. Rhododendrons are easy to find and walking along the hiking trails of the resort in the park of waterfalls "Mendelikha", in the area of the observation deck "Stone Pillar" (2509 meters above sea level), as well as on the trails "Javor", "Panorama", "Triton's Way", "Trail of Champions" and "Crocus". - In the mountains of the Caucasus, you can see three varieties of rhododendrons yellow, Pontic and Caucasian.
The beauty of these flowers is deceptive. It should be borne in mind that all their parts are toxic, they are more or less dangerous to humans. It is better to just admire their flowering. The full houses installed at the resort urge guests to preserve nature, not to tear or touch plants," said Denis Ryltsev, head of the environmental service of the Rosa Khutor resort. Rhododendrons will bloom in the mountains of Sochi for about two weeks. Considering that the main law of the mountains is the altitude zone, now on the slopes of the resort you can also notice modest snow–white flowers - the red-book kandyk Caucasian, the broad-leaved grouse, resembling a black tulip. A little later, a rare bright yellow Kesselring lily will bloom. In the middle of summer, orchids and bluebells will bloom at the resort, and by autumn the mountain slopes will be covered with saffron and timberless. In total, over 1,650 species of native plants are found in the rich flora of the Caucasian Black Sea region.
