Russian Hotels Welcomed Nearly 10 Million Guests in July

The press service of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development has reported that, according to Rosstat, Russian hotels, sanatoriums, and other accommodation facilities welcomed 9.99 million guests in July of this year. This is the highest figure recorded in the history of statistical observations.

"In the first seven months of 2024, the number of tourist trips with overnight stays in collective accommodation facilities reached 48.7 million, an increase of 11.7% compared to the same period last year. The number of foreign tourists over the same period increased by 45.5% to 2.3 million," the statement said.

On average, tourists stayed in hotels for 4 nights. According to statistics, travelers stayed the longest in hotels in Kabardino-Balkaria (6.9 nights), Sevastopol (6.2 nights), and Crimea (6 nights).

Moscow, Krasnodar Krai, St. Petersburg, Moscow Oblast, and Tatarstan continue to be the leaders of the tourism market.Together, they account for over 20 million tourist trips. At the same time, the popularity of new tourist centers in the North Caucasus, Siberia, and the Far East is growing.

The ministry reported that the highest growth rates in the number of tourist trips among Russian regions over the first seven months were shown by Kabardino-Balkaria, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Amur Oblast, Khabarovsk Krai,Ingushetia, the Chechen Republic, and Dagestan.
