The nationwide eco-campaign "Save the Forest" kicked off on August 20. Its goal this year is to plant 70 million trees across the country.

And already on September 12, participants managed to reach an important milestone - in the Ivanovo region, as part of the campaign, the five millionth tree was planted. It will grow in the 1905 Revolution Park. In total, 60 young pine trees appeared in the park. This was reported on the campaign website.

"The place where the 5 millionth 'Save the Forest' tree appeared is ideally suited for a significant planting," the region noted. The 1905 Revolution Park is a natural monument and a specially protected natural area. With an area of more than 200 hectares, a large forest massif, clean air, and a river, the green zone has become one of the favorite places for local residents," the message says.

Local residents, school forestries, and representatives of the Ecosystem movement joined the plantings in the park.

The campaign will continue in the region until mid-October, attracting volunteers, representatives of work collectives, students, schoolchildren, and forestry veterans. It is expected that this year more than 12 thousand pines and firs will appear in Ivanovo, as well as in the forests of a number of districts of the region.

The sixth season of the nationwide forest restoration campaign "Save the Forest" started in August in Kamchatka. Among its goals is to draw the attention of the general public to the issue of careful attitude to forest resources, as well as to compensate for the consequences of forest fires and contribute to preserving the country's carbon balance.

"Save the Forest" traditionally covers all regions and will last until November.

As the organizers note, over the previous five seasons of the project, its participants have planted about 300 million trees.

In the new season, it is also planned to hold subbotniks (volunteer clean-up days) on the territory of forestries, educational workshops, online quizzes on the topic of the forest, and other activities.

Anyone can take part in the campaign. To do this, you need to go to the official website sohranimlesrf.ru, choose a location and register, and arrive at the appointed day and time. All equipment and seedlings will be provided on site.
