Twelve Asian countries showcased their cultures and customs at a festival in Bucharest.

Bangladesh, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Iran, China, Malaysia, Pakistan, South Korea, Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka, and Japan delighted residents and guests of the Romanian capital with exotic shows. Colorful national costumes, vibrant folk dances, and soulful folk music were available to festival visitors in late September.

There was also a tasting of unusual overseas dishes. In pavilions set up on the central square of Bucharest, gourmands were able to enjoy Sosis Solo rolls, Kuih Bakar pies, Kerupuk fish chips, Buih Lapis pudding cake, and Bubur Pulut Hitam rice-coconut desserts.

The ambassadors of Asian countries were honored guests at the second Asian festival in Bucharest. They noted the steadily expanding cultural and economic ties with Romania. It was announced that this year the trade turnover of their countries with Romania will reach almost thirty billion dollars.
