The "Open South" program, which will run from September 23 to May 31, has introduced reduced rates for vacations in Sochi during the off-season. Among the program's regular participants are sanatoriums such as "Zelenaya Roscha," "Yuzhnoe Vzmorye," "Znanie," and boarding houses like "Sheksna," "Izumrud," "Neptun," "Delphin," and "Korall." Other participating accommodations include sanatoriums "Avangard" and "Avtomobilist," the "Grafіt" hotel, the "Ilona" health center, the "Orbita-1" boarding house, and the "Gorniy Vozdukh" health and wellness complex.
"When it was first launched in 2004, the 'Open South' program, in addition to attracting tourists to Krasnodar Krai resorts, was also designed to ensure year-round occupancy of sanatoriums and boarding houses and to retain qualified personnel, especially among medical workers providing spa treatments. Today, Sochi consistently receives millions of tourists both in summer and winter. Nevertheless, the socially oriented program provides an opportunity for the widest possible range of our country's citizens to plan a vacation by the sea. The development of year-round wellness and balneological directions is a priority in the strategy for developing Sochi's resort industry," noted Sergey Somko, Director of the Department of Resorts, Tourism, and Consumer Services of the Sochi Administration.
A vacation at Sochi's health resorts under the "Open South" program will cost from 1,900 rubles per person per day. The package includes accommodation in a standard room, three meals a day, and spa treatments. Sochi sanatoriums specialize in treating cardiovascular and nervous systems, musculoskeletal system, allergic, gynecological, and urological diseases. In recent years, the therapeutic specialization of sanatoriums has expanded. Almost every health resort offers balneological procedures. The program operator is the company "Rosyugkurort."
