The practice of reproducing the North Caucasian subspecies of pheasant continues in Krasnodar Krai. Recently, two releases of birds into their natural habitat took place. This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Krasnodar Krai on its website.
"In the vicinity of the Kanevsky district, on the territory of the protected zone of public hunting grounds, 700 individuals of the North Caucasian subspecies of pheasant were released into the wild. In the natural habitats within the protected zone of public hunting grounds of the Slavyansky district municipality, specialists released 500 birds," the statement said.
As noted in the ministry, before releasing the pheasants, specialists carefully inspect the resettlement sites of the birds to ensure that there is a sufficient natural food base and protective properties of the lands. Biotechnical measures are also carried out.
