The first underwater ecological trail appeared in the Altai Biosphere Reserve at the bottom of Lake Teletskoye near the mouth of the Chechenek River. Here you can go diving all year round, because even in winter the water freezes only once a decade, according to the national tourism portal of Rostourism - Russia.travel.
At the same time, the lake remains cool, and throughout the summer, the surface temperature rarely rises above +16 ℃.
“During an underwater walk, you can see burbots, grayling, pikes, as well as enjoy the unique underwater landscapes of Lake Teletskoye. The duration of the diving session is about half an hour,” the resource reports.
As noted by Russia.travel, the Altai Biosphere Reserve is a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site. It occupies one of the first places among Russian reserves in terms of biological diversity. The unique natural complex of Lake Teletskoye and the Priteletskaya taiga is subject to protection here. The reserve is inhabited by animals and birds that were on the verge of extinction - sable, elk, deer, snow leopard, argali, demoiselle crane, saker falcon, black vulture, osprey.
There are mountains, coniferous forests, alpine meadows, mountain tundra, turbulent rivers, as well as 1.275 lakes, besides small ones, including Teletskoe, one of the largest lakes in southern Siberia.
