The documentary film "Fiery Fox", shot entirely in the wild nature of Kamchatka - in the Kronotsky Reserve - over the course of three years, has been released in Russian cinemas.
The creators of the film are the well-known documentary filmmaker Dmitry Shpilenok and the screenwriter and producer Anna Shpilenok.
The film tells the true story of a fox family in their natural habitat. The authors observed the same family and the life situations that happened to the foxes for 26 months.
The plot of the film is based on the real story of a fox named Veter, who was born the weakest in the litter, but by chance was the only one from the whole family to survive a bear attack.
"Veter turned into a real hero before our eyes in three years. I wanted the viewer to understand that despite the fact that we are not perfect, we can realize our chances, achieve love and be happy," Roszapovedcenter quotes Anna Shpilenok.
The scientific consultant of the film was Anna Yachmennikova, a biologist and employee of the Institute of Ecology and Evolution (IPEE) of the RAS.
"Thanks to her prompts, the film turned out to be biologically literate and quite fully conveys to the viewer the harmony of nature, reflecting the fullness of the interconnectedness of all living things through the image of the fox," the message on the IPEE website says.
A colorful popular science book has also been released to the film.
"This is an incredible movie filled with love, adventure, family values, tragedies and overcoming your fears. It is impossible to tear yourself away from the stunning views of Kamchatka, even the most callous people shed tears from what is happening on the screen," says Dariaマツク, head of Roszapovedcenter.
The film "Fiery Fox" is a unique opportunity to see the life of wild animals in their natural habitat, to learn about the habits of foxes and the beauty of the Kamchatka nature.
The film has been in theaters since May 18, 2024.
