Sochi authorities and the Ministry of Emergency Situations have warned of the possibility of tornadoes forming over the sea throughout the resort area.

"Until September 25, inclusive, all districts of Sochi and the federal territory of "Sirius" are forecast to experience heavy rain, thunderstorms with large hail, and a sharp increase in wind speed to 22-27 meters per second," meteorologists report.

Local rises in water levels in rivers are expected, and there is a possibility of exceeding unfavorable levels. There is a risk of small-scale mudflows in the mountains.

"The situation is being monitored by the operational headquarters, and all city services are operating in an enhanced readiness mode," the Sochi administration noted.
