The expert council under the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation has decided to grant the status of a national tourist route to the tour "Hidden North: from Arkhangelsk to Solovki".
It was developed as part of the preparations for the 600th anniversary of the founding of the first monastic settlement on the Solovetsky Archipelago in 2029.
This is a five-day circular route: tourists will spend two days of sightseeing in Arkhangelsk and three days on Solovki.
The tourist portal of the Arkhangelsk region reported about it.
“The national tourist route "Hidden North: from Arkhangelsk to Solovki" will contribute to extending the tourist season on Solovki and will be a good tool for attracting attention to Arkhangelsk and the region as a whole,” said Anna Tyutrina, Deputy Minister of Culture of the region.
Fifteen guaranteed tours are planned for the next year.
As the portal notes, the assignment of the status of a national tourist route indicates the high quality of the tourist product, its recognition at the federal level, and provides opportunities for promotion and support.
In the Arkhangelsk region, the first such status was received by the tour "Arkhangelsk: where the Arctic begins" in November 2021.
