The Ural Federal District showed an increase in the number of tourists in the first months of 2024. The numberof trips to the regions of the Uralsand Western Siberia exceeded 2.6million, said Vladimir Yakushev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federationin the Ural Federal District.

"This year we are already recordingan increase in the tourist flow. So,according to the results of the firstfour months, it is 2.5% higher than the level of the same period last yearand 23% higher than in 2022. FromJanuary to April, tourists made morethan 2.6 million trips to the regions of the Urals and Western Siberia. Theseare impressive results," Yakushevsaid.

According to him, the development of tourist infrastructure and an increasein the number of trips to the regionremain priorities.

Yakushev said that the Ural Federal District is actively developing andimplementing new tourist products -glamping, ecotourism, water raftingwith comfortable living conditions, aswell as hiking and mountain tourismalong specially equipped trails.
