Domestic tourism in Russia grew by more than 20% last year

The number of tourist trips in Russia in 2023 reached 78 million, which is 21% more than in the previous year. This is reported by the official page in the VK of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia in the field of tourism.

"The North Caucasus, the North-West and the Far East are growing the fastest," the message says.

Experts predict that more and more travelers will make short trips around the country, for example, from Moscow to Tver for the weekend.

"For trips to the Far East, the North Caucasus, the Urals and Siberia, we will update the rolling stock of trains and buses. We have developed a concept for car tourism development: we will build roadside service areas with gas stations, cafes and hotels throughout the country," the department noted.
