This summer, Croatia, like the rest of the Balkans, is experiencing extremely high temperatures. As a result, the water along the country's coast has warmed significantly. According to the State Hydrometeorological Institute, the sea water temperature near Dubrovnik reached 29.7 degrees Celsius. This sets a new record, surpassing the 2015 record of 29.5 degrees recorded near Rab Island. Considering the daytime temperatures in the country ranging from 35 to 39 degrees, new records are not out of the question.

The unbearable heat is driving people to the sea, leading to an expected record number of beach tourists in Croatia. According to the Croatian Tourism Council, the number of travelers arriving in the country in July reached approximately 930,000. However, it is anticipated that the number of guests will soon reach one million. This is firmly believed by the director of the Croatian Tourism Council, Kristijan Stanicic. He noted that compared to the same period last year, tourist flows to the country have increased by 5%.

And this is just the beginning. Thanks to marketing and advertising efforts, as well as reasonable pricing strategies, Croatia could become the most popular and sought-after vacation destination in the Mediterranean region, according to Kristijan Stanicic. He urged entrepreneurs in the tourism sector to maintain justified pricing levels, as price increases can only be justified by improvements in service quality.
