The agreement on this was signed by the authorities of the resort and the company "Gazprom Gas Motor Fuel". The document provides for work to expand the use of compressed and liquefied natural gas, as well as the identification of sites for the construction of filling stations in Sochi.
"There are almost four thousand buses and taxis in Sochi, more than one hundred thousand cars and trucks. All of them have an impact on the environment. Within the framework of the Year of Ecology, the signing of this agreement plays an important role. We already have NGV buses in the city. Electric buses are also being tested. It is more economical and environmentally friendly. Over time, we will systematically form a fleet of vehicles running on natural gas for municipal needs," said the mayor of the city Alexei Kopaygorodsky.
Natural gas is the most economical and environmentally friendly motor fuel. Methane-powered vehicles have repeatedly proven their reliability during long international motor races and sports competitions. By the end of 2023, it is planned to build three facilities in Sochi. The construction of the first station on Energetikov Street will begin this year. The volume of investments in construction will amount to over a billion rubles. Today, Gazprom gazomotornoye toplivo already operates 17 gas filling facilities in the region. The company plans to build about 30 more facilities in the Krasnodar Territory with a total investment of over 4 billion rubles.
