The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources reported that the winners were determined in 16 nominations. The authors of the best works were awarded for their research on the management, rational use and protection of water resources.
"Schoolchildren and students studied the chemical composition of water, determined the degree of pollution of rivers and lakes, assessed the current state of hydraulic systems. The studies affect such large objects as the Teletskoye and Saki lakes, the Gulf of Finland, Lake Sevan, the Black Sea," the report says.
The Grand Prix of the competition was awarded to Yegor Lyubinin from the Kaliningrad region for the development of an unmanned aerial vehicle for the study of reservoirs and Alexandra Semyonova from St. Petersburg, who studied the method of water purification using reagents based on iron ore enrichment waste.
Not only representatives of Russia, but also students from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan reached the superfinal of the competition.
Irina Khlipitko, a schoolgirl from the Voronezh region, became the winner in the special nomination of the Federal Water Resources Agency. She devoted her work to the peculiarities of the formation of the vegetation cover of shallow reservoirs of the Khopersky Reserve.
Another project dedicated to water bodies in the Volga River basin was awarded a special prize for the first female cosmonaut, Valentina Tereshkova. It was received by Zuleikha Khafizova from Tatarstan, who studied the effect of diffuse pollution on nutrient runoff in the Iya River.
