Volunteering in protected areas is actively developing in Russia. According to Veronika Leshchinsky, the head of the environmental education department of the Roszapovedtsentr of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, various groups of the population of our country show a steady interest in comprehensive assistance to the conservation work.

Speaking at the festival "Primordial Russia", which takes place these days in Moscow, she added that the number of volunteers in specially protected natural areas is increasing annually, and the number of work they have done is growing. In addition, there are ever new forms and types of volunteering. Of course, the emergence of stably functioning volunteer communities is encouraging, Leshchinsky emphasized.

The demand for volunteer projects speaks of the steady interest of Russians in environmental issues, as well as the increasing level of environmental culture in Russia, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The Primordial Russia festival in the Gostiny Dvor runs until February 16.
