Mostar, the tourist center of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has welcomed over a million visitors. This was announced by Elvira Dilberović, director of the Mostar Tourism Board. According to statistics, the past summer season was the most successful: hotel occupancy reached almost 100%.

The number of organized tourists in the city was tracked thanks to a monitoring system created with the help of UNESCO specialists. "This clearly shows how many more tourist groups there have been. As for individual trips, I cannot give exact figures, since many private accommodations are not included in the official tracking systems. But I can say with great confidence that Mostar was visited by over a million tourists," noted Elvira Dilberović.

Mostar is interesting not only for its historical landmarks. The city constantly hosts various exhibitions and festivals. This summer, the Mostar Summer Fest, Street Art Festival, Moba Street Food, and Mostar Summer were held here, attracting visitors from Austria, Germany, Serbia, Croatia, and Turkey. There has also been a noticeable increase in tourists from the Middle East.

However, the Mostar administration believes that for the sustainable development of tourism in the region, it is necessary to complete the construction of the Mostar highway and regulate the activities of tourist guides. The Tourism Board proposes expanding sightseeing offers beyond the center of the Old Town. All this will allow revealing the rich urban culture of Mostar from different eras.
