The events will be held within the framework of the Year of Ecology in 2022 in Sochi. Event material was presented to the administration of the resort.

«The municipal Year of Ecology will improve environmental performance, form an active civil position among Sochi residents in the field of ecology. Ecological tourism, which is becoming more and more popular among residents and guests of Sochi, will receive a new development. The problem with invasive pests will also be resolved,» stressed the head of the city of Sochi, Aleksey Kopaigorodsky.

Thus, within the framework of the Year of Ecology in the administration of the city of Sochi, in the administrations of intracity districts, in the City Assembly, eco-offices will be created. In 2022, a phased introduction of electric vehicles into the operation of taxi companies is planned, as well as a test launch of an electric bus on the city's public transport route. It is planned to launch environmentally friendly natural gas heat generating units that provide heat and hot water supply to the residents of the city.

Large chain supermarkets in the Year of Ecology will have pandomats for receiving plastic bottles. Within the framework of the federal program "Ecology", containers for separate waste collection will be installed on the streets of Sochi, and environmental campaigns will be held. Digital services will be introduced to visit natural objects of tourist display. A new ecological tourism object will appear. The implementation of the international programs of voluntary eco-certification "Blue Flag" and "Green Key" will continue.

By the beginning of the summer resort season, the improvement of the Garden of Russian-Japanese Friendship in the Central District of the resort will be completed. The schools will create a "Green Patrol" - an association of students, showing an example of the careful attitude of young Sochi residents to nature. A block of "green" volunteers, permanent participants in environmental campaigns, will appear.
