Early next year, an electronic travel information and authorization system (ETIAS) is planned to be launched in Europe. It will track all the movements of travelers. The European Commission has announced that it plans to launch the system by the end of 2022.

The program is designed for tourists arriving in the Schengen area from non-EU countries, but exempted from the visa regime (there are now 62 such countries). ETIAS will check whether travelers comply with migration rules and whether they pose a threat to the safety and health of EU citizens.

Visa-free tourists will need to complete an online application to enter EU countries. They promise to make the process simple, fast and affordable: authorization on ETIAS will cost seven euros for travelers over 18 years old. You will need to pay the fee every three years.
