The all-Russian long-distance dog sledding competition "Beringia.Avacha" will be held in Kamchatka from February 8 to 15, 2025. Preparations for the races are already underway in the region. This was announced on its website by the Ministry of Tourism of the Kamchatka Territory, which oversees this event.

"The organizers have worked based on the experience of previous years: letters have been sent to all leading airlines in the country to obtain benefits for transporting dogs from other regions of Russia to Kamchatka. Specialists are preparing campsites between stages of the race, firewood and hay have been purchased and already sent to these locations, equipment is being prepared, and comfortable conditions for dogs are being created," the message says.

The regulations for the race are currently being developed and will be published soon, after which applications will be accepted.

In 2024, "Beringia.Avacha" became an official all-Russian competition, where athletes covered 295 km and overcame more than 5000 meters of elevation gain.
