The international holiday Tourism Day appeared more than 40 years ago on the initiative of the World Tourism Organization. Every year it is celebrated by hundreds of thousands of travelers and tourism industry professionals.
- Being the flagship of the country’s mountain tourism, Rosa Khutor cannot ignore this day. The resort is rightfully considered the best in Russia; every year it is visited by about two million guests from different parts of the country and the world. In winter, vacationers have access to ski slopes with a total length of 105 kilometers, 32 ski lifts, and in summer – 110 kilometers of hiking routes, the Rosa Khutor resort said.
Festive events dedicated to Tourism Day start on the main square of the resort at 11:00. Guests will enjoy creative master classes from the RIDERS Children's Club on painting wooden badges, an excursion to the Museum of Archeology, a sports and tourist obstacle course with a drawing of souvenirs, and a master class “Using the telephone for navigational and educational purposes.” The little ones will be able to master mountain behavior skills in the exciting “Mountain Adventure” and “Survival School” classes from the Children’s Mountain Academy.
- The festive program dedicated to Tourism Day at Rosa Khutor will continue in the lecture hall of the Mountain Club “Sport-Marathon”. Here there will be a meeting with the outstanding traveler Konstantin Merzhoev. He has more than a dozen long-term expeditions under his belt, including a unique one along the Earth’s belt of fire. He will talk about his tourist experience, the most unexplored corners of Russia, what impressions travel gives and how they change a person,” noted the Rosa Khutor resort.
Guests of the lecture hall will also be able to look at mountain tourism through the eyes of a rescuer, learn about first aid in the mountains, understand how to properly prepare for a hike and where to go for a walk at Rosa Khutor. A detailed schedule of events dedicated to the celebration of Tourism Day was published in the Rosa Khutor Live Telegram channel.
