The "Imperial Noon" festival is once again taking place in the city on the Neva this year. Every Sunday from April 28 to September 29, immediately after the noon cannon shot from the Naryshkin Bastion of the Peter and Paul Fortress, residents and guests of the Northern capital will see a small concert in the Parade Yard of the St. Petersburg Capella. This was reported by the Visit Petersburg portal.
"At 12:01, the windows of the Tsar's Pavilion will open, a musician in the uniform of the Life Guards Naval Crew will appear and perform famous compositions. Everyone will be able to listen to him. Note that the repertoire will change every week," the message says.
The festival was first held in 2022 as a continuation of the tradition of public musical events in St. Petersburg, which dates back to the time of Peter the Great.
"Over the past two years, the tradition of "Imperial Noon" has already become one of the favorite sights of St. Petersburg. Not only guests of the Northern capital who have heard about it come, but also the townspeople themselves," the portal quotes Deputy Director of the St. Petersburg Capella Yulia Shalisheva.
The festival concerts can be heard at 20 Moika River Embankment.
