The opening of the Park of Space Conquerors near Saratov - on the site of Yuri Gagarin's landing - will take place on April 12 and is timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the first flight into space, Interfax-Tourism reports.

The project was initiated by the Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin.

Investments in the project amounted to 1.1 billion rubles.

According to the vice-governor of the region, Roman Busargin, 854 million rubles were allocated from the federal budget for the project.

According to the report, the park will be divided into two zones - the place where Gagarin landed and the place where the capsule landed.

Visitors to the park will also be able to walk along the 108 minutes pedestrian route - this is exactly how much Gagarin spent in space. Along the trail of the route there are granite slabs on which the transcript of Gagarin's negotiations with the Earth is engraved.
