The occupancy rate in Istanbul is close to 90%

Istanbul is experiencing a boom in tourist activity. In the first eight months of 2022, more than 10 million foreign tourists visited the city, as a result of which the occupancy rate of city hotels reached 90%.

According to the Istanbul authorities, 1.7 million travelers from abroad visited Turkey's largest city in August alone, and in January-August their number reached 10.2 million.

At the same time, the list of foreign guests was headed by Russians, followed by Germans, Iranians, Saudis and Americans.The Istanbul authorities expect that in October, the occupancy rate of hotels, as in September, will remain at 90%.

It is also expected that in the first quarter of 2023, hotel prices in the city will increase by 20%. Despite this, according to local media reports, it is expected that next year the influx of foreign tourists to Istanbul will reach about 30 million people.
