Such plans include the concept of the development of the institution for 2023-2025, which was presented by the museum management to the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova.

“The status of the museum-reserve will allow to solve the issues of safety and accessibility of the museum, thereby creating a single ecosystem of the territory of the museum-reserve, its funds, monuments of history, culture and nature,” said Svetlana Sivkova, general director of the Museum of the World Ocean, whose words are quoted in a message on the website Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

She noted that the concept is aimed at the balanced and sustainable development of the museum in cultural, educational and scientific activities.

Among the main tasks are to increase the scope and number of partner exhibitions, present museum projects on ships and in Russian ports, attract more organized tourist groups and create comfortable conditions for visitors, Sivkova said.

According to the director, over ten years the museum's fund has replenished with numerous exhibits and amounted to 100,000 items.

The Museum of the World Ocean, she noted, is the only complex museum of science and technology in Russia, a multifunctional center for the preservation, study and promotion of the marine cultural and natural heritage of Russia.

In addition, this is the first complex marine museum in Russia, located in Kaliningrad. The museum has created the country's only Embankment of the Historical Fleet, at the pier of which the world's largest research vessel-museum "Vityaz" is moored, the country's only submarine-museum of the 641st project afloat "B-413", the only one in the world space communications vessel "Cosmonaut Viktor Patsaev", which has a museum exposition, the only fishing vessel-museum in the country "SRT-129".

This embankment stretches to St. Petersburg, where the world's oldest icebreaker Krasin, which is a branch of the museum, is moored. The ships represent the history of exploration and development of the oceans.
