A significant milestone in the development of the Elbrus resort is expected in 2027. By this time, a new ski area will open, the number of cable cars will increase from three to nine, a modern service center will appear, as well as additional hotels and restaurants. This was reported by Kavkaz.RF, citing a speech by the company's CEO, Andrey Yumshanov, at the Tourism Territories Forum in Mineralnye Vody.
"In the new 6,500-square-meter service center, there will be an information office, as well as all the necessary services, including equipment rental, a restaurant, a coffee shop, a children's club, and a pharmacy. The flat parking area, from which comfortable shuttles to the Azaou Glade currently run, will become a system-forming element of the resort environment. It is planned to place food trucks, entertainment facilities, and attractions here," says a message on the Kavkaz.RF website.
It is assumed that upon completion of the modernization of Elbrus, the tourist flow to the resort will increase to one million people, and by 2030 it may increase by another one and a half times, the company noted.
"Business is not ready to go "into the mountains" today when there is nothing there - no ski facilities, no roads. This is global experience. And the arrival of private investment in the resort is a significant event for all of us. After a ten-year break since the creation of the SEZ "Elbrus", today eight residents are preparing to build modern hotels, restaurants, and sports facilities. It is important that market leaders are coming to the resort," Yumshanov's words are quoted in the message.
