The press service of the national park "Land of the Leopard" reported that a female Amur tiger under the number T 7F in Primorye was recorded by camera traps with new kittens. She became a mother for the fifth time. In total, the predator has 12 kittens. This is a record case of fertility in the entire history of scientific observations in the national Park.

Such fecundity contributes to stable growth in the Amur tiger population. The predator has already made a huge contribution to the preservation of its own subspecies.

On average, a tiger brood has no more than three kittens. Science knows of rare cases of the birth of five Amur tiger kittens in captivity, where people help to take care of newborns

The female T 7F was first recorded in 2013. In early 2014, she was caught in the lens of camera traps with three tiger cubs. Since then, the predator brings offspring regularly every 2-3 years. Many of her kittens, having matured, become residents and receive their own identification numbers.

In recent pictures, T 7F is walking in the company of one kitten. He is about 5-6 months old. At this age, tigers often move accompanied by their mother, actively master hunting skills. All the animals in the pictures look well-fed and healthy.

In addition, the scientists received pictures of one of the grown-up kittens of a large tigress. The young predator has only recently separated from its mother and is now exploring the surroundings of the national park on its own. Now he is about three years old.

At the moment, about 60 Amur tigers live in the protected areas of the south-west of Primorye. In total, about 750 Amur tigers have been recorded in Russia.
