The National Tourism Information Center of Uzbekistan has announced plans to launch a tourist train called the "Samarkand Express". It is expected to attract more foreign tourists and open up new opportunities for tourism in the republic. In the new luxury train, passengers will be able to enjoy high-class service, exquisite cuisine, and admire the views thanks to panoramic windows.

The project will be implemented by JSC "Uzbekistan Temir Yo'llari" jointly with the Italian company "Arsenale group". The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Tashkent International Investment Forum. This document lays the foundation for the conclusion of a final agreement between the two companies on the creation of a luxury train.

The "Samarkand Express" is expected to start operating in Uzbekistan in late 2026. According to the press service of JSC "Uzbekistan Temir Yo'llari", the train will consist of 13-15 carriages with 38 compartments of different comfort categories: deluxe, luxury and super deluxe. The train is designed for 76 passengers.

The estimated duration of the trip on the Tashkent - Khiva route will be 2 nights and 3 days with stops in Samarkand and Bukhara. It is planned that from 70 to 90 flights will be operated per year.

The statement emphasizes that the train will meet high environmental sustainability standards.
