Participants of the Moscow Marathon will be able to run 42.2 or 10 km along the central streets and embankments of the capital.
The organizers of the event reported that the routes of both distances were laid in one circle with a view of the iconic sights of the city. Participants will be able to see the skyscrapers of Moscow City, the White House, four of the seven Stalinist skyscrapers, the Bolshoi Theatre, the FSB building, the Polytechnic Museum, the Kremlin and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
Both routes run along the embankments of the Moskva River, along the Garden and Boulevard Rings, across the Crimean Bridge, along Tverskaya Street and Teatralny Proyezd, under the walls of the Kremlin.
The start of the 10 km race will take place on Festivalnaya Square. Athletes who want to run a marathon distance start on Luzhniki Street next to the Walk of Fame.
In addition, on the eve of the Moscow Marathon on September 17, a 5 km fan run will be held in Kuzminki. Athletes will be able to take part in a friendly run and warm up before the main competitions.
