In the pre-pandemic 2019, 9.6 million people visited the Louvres, 61% of whom were residents of France, and 28% came from European Union countries.
In 2021, the Louvre's revenue from ticket sales decreased by 80 million euros compared to 2019. Last year, the state allocated a total of 110 million euros to support the museum. Another 6 million euros will be additionally transferred in 2022.
