A staircase of 1683 steps connects two attractions of the regional center - Torgashinsky ridge and Krasnoyarsk Pillars - into a single tourist cluster with a common network of hiking trails. The length of the route is 1200 meters, the height difference is 240 meters. This is the longest staircase in the country.
It begins on the territory of the "Grenada" camp, and ends with an observation deck overlooking the famous Pillars and the vicinity of the Bazaikha River. There are also viewing platforms with benches along the route.
The official portal of the Krasnoyarsk Territory says the project was completed with minimal impact on the natural landscape. "The object looks especially impressive in the evening, when the lights mounted along its entire length are turned on," the region's website says.
The improvement of the routes on the Torgashinsky ridge is planned to continue: next year, small architectural forms, navigation and equipped viewing platforms will appear on the section from the Arka rock to the Red ridge, the report says.
“We invite residents and guests of the city to look at the Torgashinsky ridge with new eyes, to take a walk in the Stolby National Park. I am sure that the creation of such facilities and infrastructure is shaping the fashion for travel within the region. We recommend that visitors get to the stairs by bus, while this is the most convenient option, "says the head of the tourism agency of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Yulia Verkhushina, whose words are quoted in a message on the region's website.
As noted by the national tourist portal Russia.travel, the Chkalovskaya in Nizhny Novgorod was previously considered the longest staircase in Russia, which has 560 steps.
