The Leopard Wildlife Journey move, which started in the Leopard Land National Park (the Primorsky Territory) on January 11, 2019 as part of the Day of Nature Reserves and National Parks, ended a year later in the most western national park of Russia - the Curonian Spit (the Kaliningrad Region).
As EcoTourism Expert came to know, as part of a project launched in the Far Eastern Marine Reserve, the Amur leopard figurine was "photographed" in more than 50 nature reserves and national parks throughout the country to show the beauty and unity of the Russian reserves.
The Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia reports that the annual tour covered all the federal districts of the country, including inaccessible places in the Kuril Islands, at the Lena Pillars, at the North Pole, in the mountains of the Western Sayan and the Caucasus. All the movements of the toy beast, nicknamed Leo, can be tracked in social networks following the hashtag #turleo.
The "Leopard Land» National Park will continue the move in the format of the competition. In the near future, everyone will be able to download and assemble a Leo miniature to photograph it at the local sights of their region. Further information about the conditions of the competition will appear on the official website of the reserve in mid-January.
