The annual study was conducted by the magazine on domestic and inbound tourism "Rest in Russia" in conjunction with the Center for Information Communications "Rating". It is dedicated to the development of tourism, the tourist attractiveness of Russian regions, their tourism potential and popularity among domestic and foreign tourists.
"The leader of the national rating of the attractiveness of the regions of the Russian Federation was the Krasnodar Territory, which received 120.3 points. The second place was occupied by the Moscow region (119.8 points), the third - by Moscow (118.3 points). The fourth place is occupied by Crimea (117.8), the fifth - St. Petersburg (112.4 points)," experts noted.
As part of the rating, experts evaluated the regions according to nine criteria. This is the level of development of the tourism industry and hotel infrastructure, the profitability of tourism and hospitality, the development of the spa industry, the popularity of the region among foreigners and tourists who come for several days. In addition, the calculation took into account the tourist uniqueness and attractiveness, the level of crime, interest in the region on the Internet as a place of recreation and the promotion of tourism potential in the information space.
The resorts of the Krasnodar Territory are actively developing their infrastructure. In particular, it is planned to build a new all-season Vasta Valley resort in Sochi, investments in this project will amount to 80 billion rubles.
