The Forum "Clean Country" highlighted the importance of ecotourism

The participants of the "Clean Country" forum, which is held in support of the national project "Ecology", discussed the role of ecotourism for the sustainable development of specially protected natural areas (PAs), as well as the key tasks facing the Government of Russia and business to preserve natural resources and the environment of the country.

Thus, Irina Makanova, Director of the Department of State Policy and Regulation of Protected Areas Development of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, noted the need to expand the territories of protected areas for the development of ecotourism, while maintaining a balance between nature and man.

The meeting also discussed issues of investment attractiveness of protected areas and ways of regulating nature protection.

Separate blocks were devoted to protecting water resources and improving air quality.

Thus, during the session, the participants announced that it is planned to create a register of drinking water sources in Russia. This will allow not only to more effectively protect the sources, but also to plan the development of territories.

The experts also noted the need to monitor emissions of hazardous gases into the air. By 2024, the government intends to reduce by 20% the amount of harmful emissions in 12 cities with the most difficult environmental situation.

Another important issue on the agenda was the "general cleaning" of the territories of the Russian Federation. During the event, it was proposed to create a register of landfills and "color" the fines and environmental payments received by the state in order to further redirect them to the implementation of environmental measures.

The International Forum-Exhibition "Clean Country" is held from March 16 to 18 in the Skolkovo Technopark, Moscow.

The plenary session was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Victoria Abramchenko, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia Alexander Kozlov, Chairman of the Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vladimir Burmatov, UN Goodwill Ambassador for the Arctic and Antarctic, Chairman of the Central Council of the All-Union Public Organization Vyacheslav Fetisov, Chairman of the Board of PJSC Sibur Holding Dmitry Konov, General Director of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom Alexei Likhachev, heads of regions and business representatives.

Among the participants in the ecotourism block were Alexey Kumarkov, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Kamchatka Territory; Andrey Minchenko, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Chelyabinsk Region; Zhanna Kira, President of the Glamping Association of Russia; Alexey Tikhnenko, Deputy Director of the Roszapovedtsentr of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia; Sergey Shumilin, Director of the Nature.
