The autumn festival of fountains in Peterhof is held annually, but in the last two years there has been a break. Thousands of people become spectators of the large-scale show. By tradition, the holiday is dedicated to events, memorable dates and personalities that have significantly influenced the development of the country's culture and changed the course of the history of the state.

2022 marks the 350th anniversary of the birth of Peter the Great, the colorful light show was dedicated to him.

“The holiday will take place in the Lower Park on the Grand Cascade and will be accompanied by grandiose fireworks. A large-scale light fountain will become the central object, and on the stages, the actors of St. Petersburg theaters will interact with multimedia projections located on 30-meter screens and the majestic building of the Great Peterhof Palace,” the Peterhof Museum-Reserve reports on its website.

According to the organizers of the holiday, one of the little-known aspects of Peter's life is his passion for the natural sciences and art, collecting artifacts and antiquities. Peter I became, without exaggeration, the founder of the museum business in Russia, the museum-reserve noted. The Fountain Festival will plunge viewers into the 18th century for an hour in order to acquaint the public in more detail with this undertaking of the emperor.

Tickets for the holiday are already on sale only on the website of the museum-reserve.
