Pasvik Nature Reserve is launching an aurora broadcast on its official website. From now on, everyone will be able to observe a unique natural phenomenon from anywhere in the world.
According to the press service of the reserve, the shooting of the first aurora in the reserve is going to be held this Thursday, August 26, when a high degree of probability of flashes is predicted.
They will be filmed by an auroral camera installed on the roof of the Eco-School in Rayakoski, which will help to observe this and other natural phenomena of the North throughout the year and in any weather. Indeed, besides aurora, you can see glowing sky and pearl clouds.
The camera in the Rayakoski Eco-School was installed as part of the project «Aurora Monitoring System for the Needs of the Tourism Business" under the "Kolarctic 2014-2020" program. In total, there are 5 partners in the project, among which the leading one is the Polar Geophysical Institute of Murmansk.
“We are the first of the partners to have this camera installed, followed by Norway and Finland,” said representatives of the reserve. "The camera is connected to the Internet, the image is renewed every 10 seconds, which in the future will allow you to create a video of the aurora."
