According to meteorologists, it will last until October. This is due to the fact that sea water on the Black Sea coast has warmed up to record levels.
"The water temperature in the east of the Black Sea is 25-26 degrees, and in Sochi and Anapa - 28 degrees. This is the temperature of equatorial waters, which is rare for us. In the Kaliningrad region, the water temperature is also high - 24 degrees. This is a sign that there will be a long velvet season, because the active layer of the ocean has warmed up well, and already in September the aquatic environment will give off heat to the atmosphere," said Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia.
Last year, the autumn season lasted until the end of September. This year, according to forecasts, it will end no earlier than the first decade of October.
