School of guides will be held in Khibiny with the support of PORA

The Institute for Problems of Industrial Ecology of the North is a separate structural subdivision of the Federal Research Center "Kola Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences" in Apatity (Murmansk region) received a grant from the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic for the project "School of Natural Tourism Guides».

The Association of Guides and Tour Guides in the Khibiny Region and the Kola Science Center have developed a training program to improve the qualifications of tour guides and tour guides in the natural areas of the Khibiny. The first field school is planned for July 2021. The implementation of this program will make it possible to educate and train professional personnel focused specifically on ecological tourism. The training consists of two modules: online distance learning and a two-week practical course on the territory of the Khibiny National Park. 

"The participants have passed a fairly serious selection and will receive certificates of preparation of the state standard," says Evgeny Borovichyov, director of the PORA Sustainable Development Laboratory.

The grant program of the Arctic Development Project Office is designed for both individuals and legal entities. Within its framework, grants are allocated for initiatives in the field of sustainable development of the Russian Arctic. More details at www.porarctic.ru/grants.
