The head of the department, Zarina Doguzova, during a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council, turned to the president with a request to consider the possibility of launching this mechanism.

According to her, now the inbound tourist flow is at a very low level.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that it is necessary to develop cooperation with other countries in the field of tourism, including in terms of establishing a visa-free regime on a bilateral basis.

He also noted that it would be possible to expand the practice of visa-free regime for group tours.

“Now we are doing it anyway, for St. Petersburg, in my opinion, there is no visas: a cruise ship comes, and tourists go ashore, spend some time without visas. It is possible to expand this practice, only for the benefit, it seems to me, it will do,” the president said.
