The Five Seas and Lake Baikal project, which involves the construction of new resorts in nine regions of the country, will receive support under the national Tourism and Hospitality Industry project - more than 100 billion rubles by 2030. This was announced on its website by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia with reference to the head of the department Maxim Reshetnikov, who spoke at a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation.
"Such projects will require a concentration of resources. Within the framework of the national project, more than 100 billion are planned until 2030. Also, if necessary, we are ready to send revenues from increased duties on imported wine from unfriendly countries to sea resorts. There are agreements on this with the Ministry of Finance," said Reshetnikov.
"5 Seas and Lake Baikal" is the largest tourism project in the modern history of Russia.
"Every year, federal year-round seaside resorts will be able to receive over 10 million of our citizens. 90 thousand new jobs will be created, more than 70 thousand new rooms, the length of the beaches will be about 70 km. When the project reaches full capacity, revenue will amount to 800 billion rubles per year. The location of the resorts and modern infrastructure will provide comfortable and affordable conditions for family holidays for our citizens," the message says.
The main part of the resorts within the framework of the Five Seas and Lake Baikal project will be created from scratch. Most regions today are actively solving land and property issues and preparing urban planning documentation, the department noted.
It is assumed that large infrastructure, roads and railways, airports and energy facilities within the framework of the Five Seas and Lake Baikal project will be built at the expense of development programs of sectoral ministries and departments.
