The "Merry New Year" festival with creative workshops and festive performances will take place in early January in the open-air museum "Malye Korely" in the Arkhangelsk region.
“The House of Santa Claus will open its doors again. Folk fun and songs will add a special flavor to the holiday. Grandfather Korel, the main manager of the New Year's fun in the museum, awaits guests on the central square. For his visitors, he prepared a theatrical performance with life-size puppets, many contests, games and puzzles, ”the national travel portal Russia.travel reports.
Guests will learn how to make Christmas decorations, New Year's cards and souvenirs, take part in folk festivities with songs and round dances, ride on an ice carousel and snow slides, taste aromatic tea with northern treats.
The festival will run from January 2nd to January 6th and January 8th and 9th.
The open-air museum of wooden architecture "Malye Korely" is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Arkhangelsk region.
Its exposition includes about 100 different buildings, including the XVI-XVII centuries. There are peasant and merchant huts, barns, wells, windmills, a bathhouse, the interior of the Dvinsky tavern, the Kholmogory forge, a fisherman's house, a hunter's hut and other objects.
Festive festivities are often held in "Malye Korely", they celebrate Maslenitsa and Easter, New Year, Christmas, the Feast of Bread, the Feast of the Horse, Haymaking and the Day of Bell Ringing.
