The skiing infrastructure has been expanded at the complex. For lovers of alpine skiing and snowboarding in the upcoming winter season, Rosa Khutor will have access to the country's largest ski area.
«New for the coming season there will be two new tracks located on the South Slope. This is a blue track for intermediate skiing "Calendula" and a red one for confident riders - "Blueberry". Their total length will be three kilometers, which means that now 105 kilometers of tracks will be available at the resort,» said Sergey Chernov, Deputy General Director for Operation of the Rosa Khutor Resort.
In addition, two new lifts will appear at Rosa Khutor - their total number will reach 32. One of them, called "Veles", is 156 meters long and is located on the Southern slope at an altitude of 1950 meters above sea level. Another lift - "Pegasus" - appeared at the Finish Zone. Here, for the first time, a training slope was organized, designed for classes with children. The Veles lift is equipped with a special gallery that protects from snow and wind.
In anticipation of the winter season 2021/22, work has been carried out to improve some of the tracks. The Yavor trail was expanded from the upper station of the Tundra lift to the lower station of the Crocus cable car, the Gorizont trail at 1650 meters above sea level, and the Triton trail above 1900 meters above sea level. In the area of the transfer of the cable cars "Volchya Skala", "Zapovedny Les" and "Caucasian Express" due to the dismantling of the tunnel, a spacious open area was formed. Thus, the transport connection between the three cable cars will now be more comfortable.
“By expanding the existing tracks, we make them more accessible for people of different levels of skiing, thereby relieving the load on the most popular places, ensuring comfortable and safe skiing for our guests,” emphasized Sergei Chernov.
The start of the winter season at the Rosa Khutor resort in Sochi is scheduled for December 17, however, the exact opening date will depend on weather conditions.
