The Neo/Nomads festival will be held on August 26-29 in Kalmykia on the border with the Astrakhan region.

“The place for the festival was chosen with reference to the traditional nomads of the steppe, as well as a place where in Russia it is always sunny and hot in summer, where the wind blows without stopping,” the organizers said on the event website.

According to them, only the participants know the exact place - due to the situation with the coronovirus, it is planned to hold the festival in a limited format.

“There will be art objects and thematic camps from the participants. There will be a lot of communication and new acquaintances. There will be music in very different genres from electronic and instrumental musicians,” the organizers promise.

"Neo/Nomads" say that in form and process they are strongly oriented towards the style of the legendary American festival Burning man, which is held in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. And in terms of ideological content, they "look through the prism of nomads - modern and traditional."

Guests of the festival follow the principle of giving and participation.

“A gift can be your appearance and image, your positive and openness to people, a musical or any other performance, a lecture, game activities, art objects, creating a bright camp, etc.,” the organizers explain.

Thus, an atmosphere of interpenetration of culture and ideas is created, the search for new meanings and friends, they note.
