Popular among tourists area - Mount St. Joseph, located near the city of Carleton-sur-Mer in the canadian province of Quebec, has received accreditation as a regional Park, Radio-Canada reported.

mont-saint-joseph1.jpgThe decision to join the Association of regional parks of Quebec (Association des parcs régionaux du Québec), was made this week at the joint annual Congress of members of the organization and the Association of ecotourism and adventure tourism of Quebec (Aventure Écotourisme Québec). In order to obtain the status of a regional park, it was necessary to modernize its tourist infrastructure without damaging the natural environment.

Director of the regional Park "Mount St. Joseph", Vincent Landry, believes that the accreditation will contribute to the growth of popularity of the tourist area, which this year has already been visited by a record 20 thousand people.

"In terms of marketing and appeal, this will play a positive role because the title of a regional park is a sign of quality," he said.
