Moscow and St. Petersburg win six nominations at the prestigious World Travel Awards 2021

The results of the world stage of the most prestigious World Travel Awards, which are awarded for achievements in the field of tourism, were summed up on December 16.

According to Rosturizm, St. Petersburg won in four nominations, including the main one - "The world's leading urban destination 2021".

“Along with the Northern capital, 19 megalopolises fought for this title, including Paris, London, Rome, Venice, Sydney, New York, Kyoto, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing. For the sixth time in a row, St. Petersburg was recognized as the "Leading City of Cultural Tourism 2021", and the project "St. Petersburg Hospitality / Safe Travels / New Tourist Geography" became the first winner in Russia in the category "Leading Marketing Campaign of the World 2021," the agency's website says.

Moscow leads in two world nominations: World's Leading City Break Destination 2021 and World's Leading Heritage City Destination 2021.

In addition, the joint project of Moscow and St. Petersburg "Two cities - a million impressions" for the first time in the history of this award received a special prize for the joint promotion of domestic tourism «Leading collaborative promotion of domestic tourism Two Cities - Million Impressions (Moscow & Saint Petersburg)».

According to Rosturizm, the World Travel Awards was established in 1993 and is now considered the most prestigious award in the field of tourism. Awarded annually, winners are determined by an online vote involving both travelers and travel professionals.
