Among them are exotic plants, with an emphasis on local planting material. This will be one of the measures to protect exotic plants and restore specimens killed by pests.

- The unique green outfit of the city of Sochi is our common heritage, one of the main symbols of the resort. We are finalizing the development of a city environmental protection program for the next three years. The project is now being discussed by social activists, whose opinions we will definitely take into account,” noted the mayor of the city, Alexey Kopaygorodsky.

The mayor of Sochi emphasized that in urban areas, plants are continuously treated against pests and diseases. The schedule was developed together with experts from the Subtropical Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

- Subtropical vegetation requires systematic care. Owners and tenants of land plots must not only enter into contracts for the sanitary treatment of trees and shrubs from harmful insects, but also regularly plant new plants on their territories and water them regularly, the Sochi administration reported.
