The Russian government will subsidize the cost of purchasing and installing fast charging stations for electric vehicles on federal highways for three years, according to a statement published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“In 2022, 1.37 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Subsidizing will allow building over 500 powerful charging stations,” the report says.
These funds will be received by 12 pilot regions, in particular Crimea, Sakhalin, Leningrad, Nizhny Novgorod regions, Tatarstan, as well as all territories through which one of the busiest highways, the M-4 Don, passes.
According to the government, the concept for the development of production and use of electric vehicles in the country provides that by 2030 it is necessary to deploy a network of 29,000 fast electric charging stations in Russia.
"They should charge the battery to 80% in no more than 20 to 30 minutes," the report said.
