More than 270 thousand tourists went to Sochi for the New Year holidays

«The average booking of accommodation facilities in the city was 76%. In the mountain cluster, the bookings were the highest - about 90%. During the holidays, 155 thousand ski passes were purchased. About 110 thousand units of ski equipment were rented,» noted the city administration.

During the New Year holidays, the Sochi airport received about 14 thousand passengers per day, more than 6 thousand cars drove through the Magri post every day. Every day, in the direction of the mountain cluster, railway transport carried more than 2 thousand passengers, about 1.5 thousand people were delivered by buses. A new route No. 777 was launched from the airport to the resorts.

«During the New Year holidays in Sochi, 150 thousand servings of mulled wine and 260 thousand servings of tea were drunk, more than 125 thousand bottles of sparkling wines, 34 thousand gingerbread and cakes were sold in retail. The most popular places to visit in the city are the Riviera Park, the Arboretum, the observation tower on Bolshoi Akhun Mountain and the Skypark. They were visited by about 160 thousand people,» reported the press service of the Sochi administration.

The resort authorities stressed that the New Year events were held in strict compliance with sanitary and epidemiological safety measures. During the holidays, about three thousand people were vaccinated. As a result, almost 270 thousand residents were vaccinated in the city. The coordination of the work of all Sochi services and the provision of security was carried out by the interdepartmental operational headquarters, which worked around the clock. More than 1000 people were involved in the headquarters: heads of the region and the city, specialists of the mayor's office, emergency rescue, resource supplying, communal services, representatives of the power and transport units.
